Tartu Youth Choir is a mixed choir consisting of the town's university and high school students. Its aim is to give young people a chance for musical development in a friendly atmosphere and to provide audiences with interesting and diverse performances.
Tartu Youth Choir was founded in 1983 by Riho Leppoja, who was the chief conductor until 2019. Kadri Leppoja has conducted the choir since 1996. In 2001, Viviane Kallaste joined as a teacher of vocal culture. Markus Leppoja has conducted the choir since 2010 and became the chief conductor in 2019. The choir has performed in 14 different countries and has participated in many festivals and competitions.
